The Hoosier Equine Council, Inc., is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the well-being of the equine, the equestrian, and the horse industry in the State of Indiana. The Hoosier Equine Council, Inc. protects, promotes and preserves the interests and activities within the Indiana equine industry in areas of education, legislation, promotion and philanthropy, to name a few.
The Hoosier Equine Council will hold several horse shows, clinics, and sponsor educational events around the entire state to benefit the industry and equine programs. All our events will be organized and run by volunteers who give their time and energy to bring these celebrations of the horse to Indiana. Proceeds from these events will help to sponsor equine-assisted activities that:
-
Promote the benefits of the horse for individuals with physical, emotional and learning disabilities,
-
Support educational scholarships,
-
Sponsor workshops for first time horse owners,
-
Sponsor clinics & educational seminars for all levels,
-
Subsidize trail design and maintenance,
-
Lobby for public land use, zoning issues, and legislation,
-
Promote equine health and welfare,
-
Educate on disaster preparedness,
-
Sponsor & support youth programs,
-
Supplement the state racing industry.
These are just a few of the worthy causes in which the HEC serves the equestrian community and industry.
The Hoosier Equine Council plans to work to unite, inform and represent the horse industry in the state of Indiana through education, communication and programming in areas such as youth, showing, racing, trails, animal welfare, equine legislation and education.
